  • About this site

Our original design for the Harry Seidler & Associates website launched in 1999 as a collection of some 300 static html pages, designed to work well on the most common screen size at the time – 640 pixels wide by 480 pixels high.

In 2010 we started on a complete rebuild, taking advantage of over a decade of improvements in web design and development.

The new design maintains the original site’s structure and approach while maximising the size and impact of any project imagery. The layout adapts to your browser window size, with the web server automatically generating the appropriate image size to suit.

    Technologies used

    • Textpattern (an Open Source framework of PHP & MySQL) is used to drive everything – from templating to content management.
    • All templates are hand-coded in W3C standards-compliant HTML5 to display well on a wide variety of devices.
    • Website behaviour is controlled via CSS3 and custom javascript written using the capable jQuery framework.

A new addition to the site is a selection of audio and video lectures by Harry Seidler. These are available in the industry standard h.264 format.

Many thanks to Dirk Meinecke for the mammoth task of sourcing and uploading hundreds of high-resolution photos.
