As part of the Kaldor Public Art Projects installation Marina Abramovic: In Residence, Harry Seidler and Associates were commissioned to provide the architectural framework within the Walsh Bay Pier 2/3 exhibition space. This included reception areas, subdivisions between the different art spaces, design and construction of various exhibition elements such as seats, tables and performance bases on the main exhibition space as well residential sleeping pods for the visiting artists and theatre seating on the upper level.

Given the heritage nature of the piers, this involved careful consideration of the existing building fabric to ensure that it would remain untouched upon removal of the infrastructure at the end of the fortnight long exhibition. In consideration of the short time frame of the exhibition, construction materials were chosen to be readily re-usable and recyclable.
