Concrete masonry walls, steel roof

Built high up on a rock cliff, the split level house faces full height glass walls of its main spaces toward Sydney Harbour and the city skyscrapers in the distance.

Two opposing wave-shaped roofs give the house its distinctive silhouette, merging the three floor levels and giving the living room a very high ceiling.
The rough masonry fireplace wall and a tapestry by Johannes Itten dominate this space.

The curved roof form is recalled in the plan shapes of balconies and screen walls, which are all in contrast to the simple rectangular shape of the house.
