Cove Office Building
Whole Floor Tenancy
This tenancy fitout for the New South Wales Architects Registration Board occupies a whole floor of the quadrant shape office building, which forms part of the 2003 Seidler designed Cove Development.
The brief called for general office workstations, a flexible space that can be used for board meetings and presentations as well as three separate rooms for confidential interviews. These spaces are arranged in an interplay of rectilinear and curved forms that also respond to the shape of the floor plate.
All joinery is custom designed to meet the needs of the client and includes workstations with metal clad dividers which contrast with timber veneer panelling and terrazzo inlaid tables. Lighting throughout features high efficiency, individually addressable LED fittings which provide maximum control and incorporate indirect circadian cycle controlled lighting.
The extensive use of different textured and coloured glass elements employed in wall recesses, doors and glazing compositions enlivens the spaces and in particular adds visual stimulus to the enclosed, internal interview spaces. Its design is a reference, together with the curved forms, to the glazing and altar end of the neighbouring St Patrick’s church.
