Harry Seidler’s bibliography is extensive. He has been written about widely and has himself contributed many thoughtful and informative articles and interviews to the technical, national and international press. A full bibliography, up to 1992, is included in the most recent and definitive book compiled by Kenneth Frampton and Philip Drew, Harry Seidler: Four Decades of Architecture.
What follows is a selection of bibliographical items drawn from that and other publications, supplemented by newer material held in the British Architectural Library at the Royal Institute of British Architects, London, to whom thanks are extended for help in preparing this select list.
This list must be prefaced by the two most important books on Seidler which have introduced a generation of architects to his work. These were much sought-after volumes at the time they appeared and their rarity was made worse by the fact that they were not published in the UK, although the Architectural Review and other European magazines did not miss the opportunity of featuring the work as it was completed. Today these books are even more difficult to find. Nevertheless, they provide a valuable record of the beginnings of a practice that changed the architectural values of a continent.
